President's Welcome

Greetings to my Aggie Family and Friends,

Remember the Mantel

First, let me start off by thanking the members of the Raleigh/Wake Alumni Chapter of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University for trusting me with the opportunity to lead our organization. It is always humbling when your peers put their trust in you. Over the next two years of my term I am encouraging the alumni of North Carolina A&T State University to join the Raleigh/Wake Alumni Chapter. The executive board and committee chairs are looking for eager and energetic Aggies interested in helping the chapter achieve greater things.

Achieving greater things reflective of the talents and skills our Aggies possess requires each of us to be creative, dedicated, and intentional in our efforts. During my term as chapter president, I want us to focus on three key areas: Aggie Unity, Scholarship, and Service. As Aggies we should always be proud of who we are and our rich academic and civic engagement history. Likewise, we should always be working to cultivate the next generation of great Aggies. One way we are working to ensure there are future Aggies is through our Nathaniel Hines Raleigh/Wake Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually-by the chapter to Wake County Public School students accepted to our beloved North Carolina A&T. Over the past several years of awarding the scholarship the average grade point average of scholarship recipients is a 4.1. We must continue to work diligently to make sure funds are available in the coming years.

Going forward, let not our Aggie Pride be limited to a rallying call at sporting events or a greeting to a fellow Aggie. Rather, let our Aggie Pride be a personification of the aspirations, dreams, and hard work of those who came before us. Those who worked to ensure we had an opportunity to a higher education and its associated benefits. As our Alma Mata's motto states, Mans et Manus let us use our Minds and Hands to ensure a strong Raleigh/Wake Alumni Chapter and North Carolina A&T State University.
